In a beautiful garden, with the weather on its best behaviour, The Old Church was the venue for Milton-Ulladulla's Escape ARTfest and Jazz in the Park on Sunday, 13 October 2019.
It was a feast of visual art and jazz music, with the day's highlight being the performance of Australian jazz legend, Vince Jones and his band.
Farmer Rob, in a bidding mood, took up the opportunity to support The Budawang School with a successful bid on a Mick Bales' blank canvas during the Blank Canvas Auction.
While the audience enjoyed jazz beneath the trees, Mick - a 2014 Archibald Prize finalist - created an abstract work, inspired by jazz, with his unique, visual interpretation of the rhythms, upbeats and improvisations of the performing musicians.
Mick's painting now hangs on one of the walls of Narrawilly farmhouse, and we're proud to own a work of art that captures our small community's love of art, jazz and education.
